Clare Hooper

Head of School

Mrs Hooper has 27 years' teaching experience, including the first 10 years in two schools in Norfolk where she taught A-Level Economics, Business and Accounting as Head of Department. She worked in both pastoral and academic Middle Management in New Zealand for five years before moving to Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur as Head of a large Business Education Faculty.  

Before joining Dulwich International High School Programme Hengqin in August 2021, Mrs Hooper was initially Assistant Head (Whole School) at the British School of Bucharest. She was responsible for developing and implementing the current Continuous Professional Development (CPD) process, including the setting of professional objectives and establishing Professional Development (PD) mentors. She went on to become Deputy Head of Secondary (Academic) where she focused on developing improved standards in Teaching & Learning, assessment, and feedback. As a Council of British International Shools (COBIS) facilitator, she has run the Middle Leaders Programme for five years and has been on school visits as a Peer Accreditor. 

Mrs Hooper is passionate about providing the best of British education in an international environment, setting high standards, supporting and challenging her students and colleagues to become the best versions of themselves. Her aim is to create an educational environment that encourages and develops active learning and provides opportunities for individuals to strive for their personal goals creating independent lifelong learners.
