Julia Thomson
Teacher of Business Studies and Economics
Ms Thomson joined DHHQ in 2024 as a teacher of Business and Economics. She holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Sheffield Hallam University.
Ms Thomson began her teaching career at Parkwood Academy in Sheffield, where she taught for 14 years, leading innovative curriculum initiatives and overseeing departments including Creative Arts and Social Sciences. Since January 2020, she has been teaching in China, working in international schools in Changzhou and Shanghai as both a teacher and Head of Social Sciences.
With over 20 years' experience, Ms Thomson has co-ordinated a variety of programmes including IGCSE and A Level courses, and has developed competency-based curricula for students transitioning to KS3. She has experience of working with students with a range of educational and emotional needs, ensuring that all learners are supported. Passionate about travel, scuba diving and exploring different cultures, she is dedicated to inspiring students and promoting a global perspective in the classroom.
