Double Chen

Teacher of Mathematics

Holding a bachelor's degree in engineering, Ms Chen joined Dulwich International High School Zhuhai (DHZH) in 2012. After working at DHZH for nine years as a mathematics teacher for the last six years and as a science technician for the first three years, she then went on to pursue her master’s degree in education from the University of Hong Kong. With a 3-month teaching practice conducted for IB MYP and DP mathematics students at Victoria Shanghai Academic in Hong Kong, she completed her master’s degree study with a pass with distinction, and she was added to the Dean’s Honors List upon graduation.

During her time working at DHZH from 2012 to 2021, she continuously developed her teaching profession. With achieving her PGCEi qualification from the University of Nottingham in 2018, completing her online Extension Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics (9709) course with CAIE in 2019, and receiving her DCI Qualified Teacher Status Qualification in 2021. She has now rejoined DHZH this academic year as a mathematics teacher and hopes to embed what she has learned from her master’s degree study to better support student learning here at DHZH.

Ms Chen is passionate about supporting students in different dimensions of their school lives. During her first nine years working at DHZH, she took on extra responsibilities, which included evening study coordinator, assistant head of year, well-being coach, and community service coordinator.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading and outdoor activities like hiking and cycling.
