Pink October | We run, we care
October 27th was a Pink Day at DHZH. To raise awareness for breast cancer among the school community, our English teacher, Ms. Evelyn Quigley organized several activities throughout the day together, with the Student Council.
The day started with our teachers wearing the pink ribbons - the universal symbol for breast cancer awareness. And the Pink Excitement came to a peak in the afternoon. Over 160 students and staff took to the track dressed in pink and participated in the Pink Run marathon.
It is one of our key goals that our students will make a positive difference in lives of others in the community and around the world. The initiatives of the Pink Day were such a tangible experience for our students to learn about social responsibility and develop an understanding of their role in and outside the school community.
We greatly appreciate the efforts of Ms. Quigley for coordinating the initiative and the support from members of Student Council, Kyra S, Carrie L and Sherlock Y.
