Dulwich Hengqin's 15th Anniversary: Building Bridges to the World

On 28 March, Dulwich Hengqin celebrated its 15th anniversary. With the theme 'Building Bridges to the World', the event was a celebration of art, culture and educational wisdom, with keynote speeches on international education, a panel discussion between university admissions officers and students, and an exhibition of overseas universities.
Educational Heritage and Innovation:
Empowering the Bay Area's Future with Centuries of Accumulation. The event opened with a magnificent performance by the Dulwich Hengqin Orchestra. Ms Sophie Zhu, Programme Director of Dulwich Hengqin, recalled the 400-year educational heritage of Dulwich College and highlighted the landmark significance of Dulwich Hengqin as the first Sino-foreign cooperative school project in Zhuhai and Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone.
She said that since its establishment in 2010, the school has adopted the motto of Dulwich College - "Building Bridges to the World" as its mission, and has nurtured thousands of students to enter the world's top institutions such as Oxford University, London School of Economics and Political Science University, University College London, University of California, Berkeley, University of Southern California, Emory University, University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong. University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc.
In addition, this year's Class of 2025 has made several breakthroughs in university admissions. In an increasingly competitive university application process, more than 70% of applicants from US schools received offers from the top 60 universities. They also received offers from the University of Hong Kong. The offers from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University are for full scholarships. The total amount of scholarships from all schools is over RMB 20 million.
Admissions officers from the University of Birmingham, Loughborough University, University of Auckland, and Purdue University joined our student representatives - Chloe J from Year 11, Ryan T, Zoe Y.T. H, and Shawn Y from Year 12—for an educational roundtable. The session covered a range of topics, including emerging university trends, academic programme selection, application tips, and future opportunities, providing students with practical insights.
Dr. Hongguang Zheng, Chairman of the Federation of Primary and Secondary School Headmasters of GBA, and President of the Chinese Educators Association of Macau, commended Dulwich Hengqin’s innovative contributions to international education in the GBA. Dr. Zheng’s acknowledgment celebrates our past achievements while fueling our aspirations for the future.
We are deeply grateful to all the guests, university representatives, parents, and students whose enthusiastic participation made this Founding Day both meaningful and memorable.
Students and teachers interpreted the concept of education through impressive performances. The student orchestra presented an opening with the theme song from Star Wars. The teachers' band gave an energetic performance of "The Record on", and the student chamber group performed the classic "Liang Zhu" and "The Four Seasons - Spring" by Vivaldi, which reflected the beauty of art from both the Orient and the West, echoing the motto "Building Bridges".
Firmly rooted in the Greater Bay Area and looking toward the world, Dulwich Hengqin will continue building bridges for students—bridges that lead to their futures, their dreams, and the world.
