Congratulations, Class of 2025!

On 12 June, the Class of 2025 took centre stage at the Edward Alleyn Theatre as Dulwich Hengqin held its annual Graduation Ceremony in celebration of our newest graduates.
Students, teachers and parents came together to mark this momentous occasion—not only to honour academic achievements, but to celebrate every hour of hard work, every spark of debate, every shared moment on the sports field, and every lasting friendship formed along the way.
Programme Director's Opening Speech
In her opening remarks, Ms Sophie Zhu, Director of the Dulwich Hengqin Programme, reminded graduates that Graduate Worldwise is more than just a motto—it is a mission and mindset for life. "Wherever life takes you, we hope you will embrace diverse cultures with open minds, identify challenges with sharp insight, and solve problems with innovative thinking and unwavering resilience. In realising your own potential, you will bring positive change to the world."

Alumnus Speech
We were delighted to welcome back Harrison, a graduate of the Class of 2024 and now a student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Opening with a quote from The Shawshank Redemption, he reflected on the transformation that happens during one’s time at school: First you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. He compared this journey to his time at Dulwich—what once felt unfamiliar eventually became an inseparable part of his memories. He encouraged the Class of 2025 to face university life with confidence and to remember that true success lies not only in academic results, but in the ability to stay authentic, resilient, and persistent

Reflections from Our Teacher Representative
Mr Cao, who joined Dulwich Hengqin the same year as this graduating class, delivered a heartfelt message as the faculty representative. He looked back on their shared journey with warmth and admiration. "I’ve witnessed your commitment to pursuing your individual paths—whether in science, economics, music, the arts or beyond. It’s been a joy to see you grow, challenge yourselves and evolve. This is the true power of education—not simply results or university offers, but discovering who you are and what drives you."

Student Speeches
Student representatives Nina S and Henry L delivered powerful and personal speeches that captured the collective experience of the Class of 2025—one shaped by perseverance, resilience and shared growth.
Nina reflected on finding strength in failure: What defines us is not when we fall, but how we rise again. She thanked her teachers, classmates and family for their support, and encouraged everyone to see each challenge as a brushstroke on the canvas of life—boldly painted as they move forward.
Henry brought laughter to the room as he recalled the memorable highs and lows of the past three years—from online learning and lockdowns to creative excuses for absence and battles with the morning alarm. He shared a lasting definition of education: Education is what remains after you’ve forgotten what you were taught in school. And he closed with a call to curiosity: “Whether you’re destined to develop groundbreaking technology, inspire communities, or simply make the world a little kinder and wiser—remember, it all begins with a question.”
