A big shout-out to DHZH Mathematicians
We are delighted to announce that our students performed exceedingly well in the international Mathematics competitions, ranking in the top places globally.
In the United Kingdom Maths Trust Senior Maths Challenge (UKMT SMC), students from Year 10 to Year 12 were rewarded with certificates, demonstrating their talent and hard work in the subject.
Daryle A (Y12) achieved a score of 120 out of 125, which ranked him in the Top 150 among 87,000 student entries around the world. It is a remarkable achievement which means Daryle is in the top 0.17% globally, as well as being our Top in the School.
Furthermore, Fiona H (Y13) was ranked Top in School in the Hypatia Mathematics Contest hosted by the University of Waterloo.
We are extremely proud of our students’ achievements. The test of the UKMT SMC is mainly written for Year 13 students, and the calibre of students entering the contests is very high. These results are a mark of our students’ tremendous efforts that they put into their studies and their flair for mathematics.
Congratulations to all the DHZH Mathematicians!
Every year, our students take part in different competitions around the world. Coming up next is the American Mathematics Contest in November, followed by the University of Waterloo Pascal, Cayley and Fermat contests in early 2023. We look forward to hearing more good news!
